HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Cougars roar past Hawks to move to 2-0

Letcher Central pulled away from Pike County Central in the first half and the Cougars cruised to a 52-15 win at Cougar Field on Friday night.

Cougar signal-caller Carson Adams passed for 75 yards and one touchdown and he rushed for 131 yards and two scores as LCC moved to 2-0.

Running back Jonah Little, Hayden Brashear and Isaac Matthews added one rushing touchdown each. Receiver Luke Goins hauled in a touchdown pass. Sam Little returned a punt for a score.

Both Pike Central touchdowns came on runs as quarterback Tayvian Boykins and Eric Perez scored. Perez rushed for 45 yards on six carries. Matt Anderson added 45 yards on 11 rushes.

Letcher Central will travel to Perry Central (1-1) and Pike Central will host Floyd Central (2-0) on Sept. 25. Both games are set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
