HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Cougars steamroll into second round with big home win

Letcher Central dominated from the opening kickoff as the Cougars knock off Knox Central, 61-6, in the opening round of the Class 4A playoffs at Cougar Field on Friday night.

Quarterback Jonah Little ran for 166 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries as Central moved to 8-3. He also passed for 67 yards and one score.

Running back Isaac Matthews added 114 yards and a touchdown on nine rushes. Koby Johnson ran for a score.

Receiver Peyton Combs hauled in a 33-yard TD pass while Cooper Bailey returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown and a fumble back 28 yards for another score.

Letcher Central will travel to Corbin (11-0) on Friday. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
