HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Hornets roll past Rebels to notch first win

Phelps went on the road to Hurley (Va.) and the Hornets cruised to an impressive 48-6 win at The Cliff on Friday night.

The Hornets used a balanced ground game to win for the first time this season in four games.

Running back Bryson Locklear finished with 110 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries while Brayden Chapman added 107 yards and one score on just six carries.

Quarterback Cainan Land rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another. Corey Turnmire ran for a pair of touchdowns and Blake Daugherty had an 18-yard TD catch.

Phelps, now 1-3, limited the Rebels to just 105 yards. Landon Dotson had 17 tackles, including seven solo, and Kenzeth Ratliff added 14.
