Magoffin County ran out to a 28-point, halftime lead and never looked back in rolling to a 44-24 win over host Floyd Central in a game played on Friday night.
Quarterback Lucas Litteral passed 223 yards and three touchdowns to help the Hornets improve to 3-2.
Running back Aiden Barnett ran for one touchdown and hauled in a pair of touchdown passes. Litteral ran for a touchdown and tossed a TD pass to Grayson Whitaker. Barnett caught five passes for 130 yards.
Jacob Allen had a 43-yad interception return. The Hornets picked off two passes and recovered three fumbles.
Floyd Central’s Brant Potter ran for one score and hauled in a 52-yard pass for another as the Jaguars dropped to 2-3. Quarterback Caleb Hager had two long TD passes in the loss.
Both teams will be back in action on Oct. 16 as the Hornets visit Pike County Central (2-3) while the Jaguars host Breathitt County (3-0). Kickoff for both games is set for 7:30 p.m.
