HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Last-second TD pass sinks Letcher Central

Letcher Central erased a 27-point halftime deficit only to have Hazard score on a touchdown pass with time running out to stun the Cougars, 52-50, in a game played at Daniel Field on Friday night. 

Quarterback Max Pelfrey tossed a 35-yard TD pass to Landon Smith for the game winner. 

Central rallied behind the play of quarterback Jonah Little. He passed for a pair of touchdowns and rushed 24 times for 249 yards and four scores.  Little returned an interception back 63 yards to the house.

Receiver Keaston Branham hauled in four passes for 73 yards and two scores. 

Keaton Day added a safety and the Cougars, now 2-2, converted on five, two-point conversion tries. 

The Cougars will host Breathitt County (3-1) on Friday night. Kickoff from Cougar Field is 7:30 pm.
