HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Lawrence County pulls away from Floyd Central

Lawrence County scored the game’s final 24 points to rally past host Floyd Central in a game played on Friday night.

The Bulldogs, now 3-1, tied the game late in the third quarter on Dylan Ferguson’s four-yard run. He finished with 81 yards.

Running back Blue Fletcher, who ran for 105 yards, put Lawrence County ahead to stay on an eight-yard run with just over eight minutes left. Quarterback Alex Strickland added a rushing touchdown and Douglas Hall had a pair.

Floyd Central’s Trenton Adkins rushed for a pair of Floyd Central scores. He had 93 yards on the ground. Sheston Johnson added 64 yards.

Jordan Akers returned a fumble back 48 yards for a score.

Both teams will be back in action on Oct. 30. The Jaguars (2-4) will host Letcher Central (4-1) while the Bulldogs welcome Raceland (4-3). Both games will kick at 7:30pm.
