HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Phelps closes regular season with road win at Tolsia

Phelps kept Tolsia off the scoreboard the entire second half and the Hornets went on to earn a 28-14 road win at Wilts Salmons Athletic Field on Friday night.

Quarterback Cainan Land ran for a pair of touchdowns and Hayden Mounts rushed for two scores as Phelps snapped a five-game losing streak.

Running back Bryson Locklear rushed for 122 yards on 19 attempts. Locklear also tossed a pair of passes to Land for 60 yards as both shared quarterback duties.

The Hornets picked off six passes, including three by Tyler Mitchem. Corey Turnmire, Land and Locklear had one each
