HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Raceland doubles up Letcher Central

Raceland built a 20-point, first half lead against Letcher County Central and made it stand up as the Rams beat the Cougars in a matchup played in Whitesburg on Friday night.

Central running back Isaac Matthews had a two-yard touchdown run and then caught a seven-yard TD pass in the final quarter.

Running back Quinton Williams added a 15-yard touchdown run in the second half.

Quarterback Gunner Holbrook passed for 160 yards as the Cougars dropped to 1-1. Receiver Brett Smith hauled in seven passes for 95 yards.

The Cougars will be back in action on Friday night at Bell County (2-0) in the Pride of the Mountains Bowl. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
