HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Tug Valley tops Man; Lawrence sweeps LCC

Tug Valley made the most of just three hits as the Lady Panthers knocked off Man, 3-1, in a home game played on Monday night.

Cassidy Griffey, Haleigh Muncy and Makinnli Farley all had at least one hit and scored as the Lady Panthers improved to 14-11. Autumn Hall struck out 12 batters to earn the win.

Bailey Muncy 2b and scored the Lady Billies (14-2) lone run on a single by Autumn Davis.

Morgan Cooper was the losing pitcher.

Logan managed only three hits against county-rival Chapmanville, but the Lady Wildcats scored a 4-3 win in a game played on Monday night.

Emma Elkins doubled in one run and Ashton Conn added an RBI single as the Lady Wildcats moved to 6-14. Emma Vinson was the winning pitcher.

The Lady Tigers, now 6-14, had 11 hits, including three off the bat of Erin Adkins. She added an RBI. Ashleigh Mahon had two hits, one a double, walked and scored a pair of runs while driving in one.

Sierra Cook suffered the loss.

Lawrence County went on the road to Letcher Central and cruised to a doubleheader sweep, winning 11-0 and 15-6 in games played at Cougar Field on Monday night.

Kensley Feltner had four hits in the nightcap, including a home run and three singles. She scored twice and knocked in three runs. Abby Nelson added three hits, one a home run, scored three runs and batted in four.

In the opener, Danielle Crum blasted a home run and singled while driving in five runs. Nelson added two runs and batted in two runs.

Raceland scored the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning to beat host Johnson Central, 6-5, in a battle of top teams on Monday night.

Randi Delong belted a home run for the Lady Eagles. She also singled and batted in two runs. Kendal Hall had three hits, two doubles, scored twice and added an RBI. Clara Blair had three hits.

Chloe VanHoose took the tough-luck loss.
