HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Floyd Central falls in 2A state title match

Floyd Central’s run in the Kentucky 2A volleyball tournament ended with a 3-0 loss to Lexington Catholic at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro on Saturday.

Floyd Central dropped a close opening set to Lexington Catholic and the Lady Knights went on to score a 3-0 win in the state championship match played on Saturday.

Jaydn Hall finished with 11 kills and three digs in the 21-25, 13-25, and 12-25 loss.

Amelia Wallace added four kills, one block, 20 assists and three digs. McKinnley Martin had four kills, three assists and three digs.

Floyd Central punched its ticket to the championship match with a 3-0 win over Harrison County in the semifinals played on Saturday.

Emma Bailey finished with 15 kills and Allyson Stumbo 10 in the 25-18, 25-19, and 25-9 win.

Jaydn Hall added 10 digs and Maddy Wade totaled 14. Amelia Wallace had 26 assists.

Floyd Central rallied from an opening set loss to beat Bardstown, 3-1, in a match played on Friday night.

Jaydn Hall totaled 16 kills, four assists, seven digs and two aces in the 8-25, 25-9, 25-13, and 25-15 win.

Amelia Wallace had three kills, 23 assists, six digs and two aces while Emma Bailey totaled six kills and four blocks. Allyson Stumbo added six kills, two blocks and three assists.
