Belfry running back Isaac Dixon, a candidate for Kentucky’s Mr. Football award, rushed for 245 yards and four touchdowns as the Pirates cruised to a 48-26 road win over East Carter in the Class 3A state semifinals at Grayson on Friday night.
The effort earned the school’s all-time rushing leader the Mountain Top Sports/Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week award.

Pikeville running back Blake Birchfield ran for 189 yards and three touchdowns as the Panthers cruised to a 36-7 win over the Raceland Rams in the Class 1A state semifinals played at Hillard Howard Field on Friday night.
Johnson Central running back Zack McCoart ran for 199 yards and three touchdowns, helping beat Franklin County in the Class 4A state semifinals, 42-28.
Honorable mention:
Belfry’s Zayne Hatfield added 155 yards and one touchdown and Dre Young finished with 86 yards and a pair of scores.
Pikeville quarterback Isaac McNamee passed for 187 yards and two scores. Receiver Wade Hensley hauled in five passes for 111 yards and a score. Zac Lockhart added a TD reception. He caught four passes for 74 yards.
Johnson Central’s Chase Price added 105 yards and two touchdowns.
