HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Hawks 4-0 for first time in 11 years

Pike Central turned back Powell County over the final 10 minutes plus as the Hawks scored a hard-fought 27-24 win over the Pirates on Friday night.

Central moved to 4-0 for the first time since 2012 and put together a four-game winning streak for the first time since 2019.

Quarterback Jamere Knuckles passed for two touchdowns and ran for a third. He passed for 52 yards and ran for 101 yards.

Lane Adams had a rushing and receiving touchdown and Mason Hess hauled in a TD pass.

Pike Central returns to the Hawks Nest to host Prestonsburg on Friday. The Homecoming kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
